Lobster
Fishing for lobster is a storied tradition in the northeast.
For generations men have fished from dawn till dusk to support their
families by harvesting delicious lobster. In fact, lobster fishing has
achieved such cultural status that it has been featured in movies and
TV shows; Seinfeld featured a whole episode based on eating lobster
illegally stolen from lobster cages.
Lobster is a seasonal dish and those in the know head to Maine in the
summer time for this feast. A traditional lobster dinner includes corn
on the cob, and hot butter for the lobster. Of course, don't forget
to bring a bib because this is a delicious but messy meal.
Lobster is so popular that even fast food chains such as McDonald's
have incorporated it into their menu. If you visit McDonald's at the
right time you can get a lobster roll for under $10. Of course, real
lobster aficionados will tell you that nothing compares to eating lobster
by the ocean on a pier with a salty wind keeping you cool.
